luminescent and opaque materials feature in this project, where light is the life force. |
|
The old kitchen installation actually obstructed the two large windows that now dominate and denied the room full natural light.
The new kitchen maximises this wonderful light source and has restructured the space to incorporate the kitchen into the family room. Designer Clive Champion has used materials like glass for the splashback and feature doors, and stainless steel to enhance the play of light in the room. The selection of beech veneer for the cabinets and dark granite for the benchtops provides definition, ensuring fixtures don't appear washed out when in full sun. The combination of beech veneer cabinets with cream laquered doors introduces whimsy, balancing the white appliances. A lift-up tambor appliance cabinet keeps small, regularly used appliances within reach, yet out of sight. |
